Found notebook, redacted (2025)
Card, paper, reclaimed copper wire.
Pages 21 x 29cm, wire varying lengths
Made with pages from a social worker’s notebook which was found on a residential street, all sensitive information is excised by hole punch. The installation is activated by passers-by causing the papers, strung on wire, to subtly shift in their wake, suggesting a connection with the lives hinted at on the pages, fragile and fleeting in their stories and also the lost/found notebook’s precarious finding on the pavement, on a windy, rainy day..
The reserved hole-punchings are scattered beneath.
This is a developed gallery iteration of an experimental installation Professional Concerns Raised (2024) which was hung in the stairwells of a 1990s office block formerly occupied by the council but taken over by Carnedd collective as a collaborative art space.
